Swedish Ambassador meets Thamilselvan

Ambassador to Sri Lanka from Sweden, Ms. Ann Marie Fallenius,
met with Thamilselvan, Head of Political Section of
Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE),
on Wednesday morning in Kilinochchi and held discussions
regarding rehabilitation and development activities of North East, sources said.
The Ambassador briefed Thamilselvan on the plans Sweden has
on providing development assistance to the NorthEast about which
the Swedish government participants will discuss at the Oslo Aid conference
on 25 November.

Thamilselvan described to the Ambassador the urgent rehabilitation and
resettlement needs of the NorthEast people and the need for assistance
for the removal of the thousands of land mines, and requested the
Ambassador's help in obtaining financial assistance from her government. Pulithevan, LTTE's head of Peace Secretariat, Tholkapian and George from
the LTTE's political division also participated in the discussions,
sources said.
