Ranil leaves for Oslo

Sri Lanka's Prime Minister Mr.Ranil Wickremasinghe Saturday morning left for Norway to attend the Oslo aid conference, which is scheduled to begin on November 25. The Prime Minister's party left around 3 a.m. Saturday from Katunayake international airport on its first leg of the tour to London. From London they will fly to Oslo, government sources said.
Norwegian Foreign Minister Jan Petersen is to open the meeting which is to be held at the Holmenkollen Park Hotell Rica in Oslo and will aim at mobilizing financial support for immediate humanitarian and rehabilitation action in Sri Lanka. The PM's delegation comprises Mr.Bradman Weerakone, International Advisor to Mr.Ranil Wickremasinghe, Secretary to the Treasury Mr.Charita Ratwatte, Vanni Rehabilitation Minister Mr. Noordeen Mashoor and several officials. Ministers Milinda Morogoda and Rauff Hakeem, who are now having talks with Indian government officials in New Delhi, will join PM's delegation in London.
