Karuna Oslo bound

Colonel Karuna, Senior Commander of Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) took off from Batticaloa in an Sri Lanka Airforce helicopter to Colombo at 9.30 am today on his way to the next round of peace talks between LTTE and Government of Sri Lanka (GOSL) to be held in Oslo, Norway 2 December, sources said.
Batticaloa-Ampara special commander of LTTE, Ramesh, Batticaloa-Ampara military commander Robert, Batticaloa-Ampara military commander of Women's wing, Nilavini, and Head of Political Wing Kausalyan met Karuna amman at the Palugamam sports grounds to see him off. Sources say that Karuna will meet Thamilselvan, who is expected to fly from Vanni, in Colombo before both will travel to Oslo together. After participating in the second meeting of the first round of peacetalks 2 to 5th November, Karuna has been attending to matters related to the Sub-Committee on De-escalation and Normalization with meetings with GOSL delegations in Muhamalai, Omanthai, Ampara and Vavunathivu in Batticaloa. Karuna participated in the heroes day celebrations in Tharavai on 27 before travelling to Colombo this morning.
