UNF government to hold peace seminar in Trincomalee

United National Front (UNF) government has begun to conduct a series of seminars to enlighten people on the ongoing peace process as well as on a power sharing system for the country. Such seminars were already were held in Matale and the second one at Ampara. During the weekend several such seminars were held at Kandy, Polonnaruwa and Anuradhapura, sources said.
Trincomalee district UNP parliamentarian Mr.M.A.M.Maharoof said a similar seminar would be held in Trincomalee on 26 January, at Town hall. Interior Minister Mr.John Amaratunge, parliamentary Affairs Minister Mr.A.H.M.Azwer and Social Services Minister Mr. Ravindra Samaraweera, UNP chairman Mr.Malik Samarawickrema and UNP general secretary Mr. Senarath Kapukottuwa are among several billed to address the seminar, Mr. Maharoof said. A common force comprising all peace loving elements will be formed. A national level centre for the activation of the common force would be set up soon, Minister of Lands in the United National Front government Mr.Rajitha Senaratne said Sunday evening addressing a seminar at Anuradhapura in the north central province. Leftist political parties that have never joined the United National Party are likely to join the common force to achieve peace in the country, said Minister Mr. Senaratne.
