Second day of Koneswaram festival in Trinco

The second day procession of the chief deity Lord Konesar and his consort Maathumai Ambal of the historic Trincomalee Koneswaram temple commenced Monday evening from Sivan Kovil in the east port town. The procession arrived Sri Pathirakali Amman temple Tuesday early morning.

The route along the second day procession was decorated and illuminated and every family received the Chief Deity with ' poorna Kumbam' at their residences. The Vel Nadai Bajan of the Trincomalee District Young Men Hindu Association followed the procession.

Several cut outs of Lord Siva were displayed at important junctions along the second day procession route at Thirugnanasampanthar Street, Sivan Kovilady, Arasady and Orr's Hill area.
