Heavy fighting at Karadippokku

The Voice of Tigers (VoT) said this morning that heavy fighting had erupted north of Kilinochchi yesterday. The radio said that Tigers fought the army as it tried to advance again from Karadippokku junction from 7 a.m. (01.00 GMT) last morning to 3 p.m. in the after noon.
Another round of fierce fighting had begun one hour later from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., said VoT. The radio said that the LTTE had beaten back the army and that nine Tigers were killed in the fighting. Four Tigers had been killed in the fighting on Thursday. The VoT also said that four Tigers were killed on January 31 when the army surrounded the house in which they were staying in Vannarpannai near Jaffna town.
