Humanitarian mine clearing group completes training

A new group of workers from the Humanitarian Mine Clearing division which completed training that complied with international standards participated in a passing out ceremony held in the training center in Paranthan in Kilinochchi district at 4pm Friday, said sources.
 Representatives from NPA, MAG and DDG International non Governmental Organizations (INGOs) and members of Tamil Rehabilitation Organization (TRO) participated in the event. The 39 members of this new graduating group is scheduled to start work in Pooneryn area with the support of Denmark-based DDG organization. Another 20 members who completed specialized training for mine clearing along highways also completed training and were awarded certificates and special recommendations, sources said.
