East High Court to inquire Satyaraj bail application

The East High Court Judge Mr.S.Paramarajah Friday said the bail application submitted on behalf of the political head of LTTE in Puthur division in Batticaloa district Mr.Subaraj Devanayagam alias Satyaraj will be taken up
for inquiry on June 27 at Trincomalee session, legal sources said.
The bail application submitted by the defence counsel Messrs
K.Kathiravetpillai and S.Ilayarajah was taken up for inquiry Friday at the Batticaloa sessions of the East High
Court, sources said. In reply to court the prosecution said that they were awaiting instructions from the Attorney General regarding this case. The High Court Judge then instructed the Police to obtain necessary advice from the Attorney General before June 27 and on that date the bail
application will be taken up for inquiry at the Trincomalee session of the
court, legal sources said. The Batticaloa Magistrate Thursday extended the remand of Mr. Satyaraj by two weeks stating that he has no power to release the suspect on bail. LTTE Puthur division political head Mr. Satyaraj was produced in Batticaloa
magistrates court Thursday on a B report in connection with the alleged
murder of another person.
Mr. Satyaraj was apprehended by members of Razik group, an auxiliary
force of the Sri Lanka Army and was ed over to the Police, sources said.
