Eastern Court postpones Sathiyaraj bail hearing[TamilNet, Friday, 27 June 2003, 16:34 GMT]The East High Court Judge Mr.S.Paramarajah Friday postponed the hearing on the bail application submitted on behalf of Batticaloa-Puthur LTTE political head Mr.Sathirarj now in remand for July 4, legal sources said. The bail application was taken up for inquiry Friday at the Trincomalee sessions of the East High Court. State Counsel Mr.S.M.Halimdeen told court that he has not received any instruction from the Attorney General's department regarding the bail application and moved for a date, legal sources said. Attorney-at-Law Mr.K.Sivapalan who supported the bail application submitted to court to give a short date to receive AG's instruction, legal sources said. The High Court Judge said he would be taking this bail application for perusal on next Friday, July 4, sources said Mr.Sathiyararj (Subaraj Thevanayagam) was arrested on June 6 in connection with a murder. Later he was remanded till June 19. The remand was extended for another fourteen days by the Batticaloa Magistrate on June 19, sources said.
