Deprived area Pre-school teachers to get free training

Education Wing of the Liberation Tigers are organizing a free practical training and lecture classes for pre-school teachers at ten locations in the economically deprived Paduvankarai and other areas in Batticaloa district in January, education officials said.

Eastern University has been conducting similar classes to pre-school teachers using a curriculum developed by Professors Sinnathamby, Prof.Vijesunderam and an Americal Professor Donna Guesvar.

However, many teachers from deprived areas of Batticaloa district are unable to benefit from the training as they cannot afford the fee of Rs5000 the University charges for attending the classes.

The same free classes are also to be organized in the Vaakarai areas, educational division of the LTTE said.
