Batticaloa-Amparai TNA MPs to meet Thamilchelvan

Batticaloa-Amparai Tamil National Alliance (TNA) Members of Parliament (MPs) are travelling to Vanni today to meet with LTTE Head of the Political Section, S.P.Thamilchelvan, Tuesday, sources in Batticaloa said.

Sources said the meeting will focus on issues that faced the Batticaloa-Amparai MPs during the period of revolt by renegede commander Karuna.

Sources added that the MPs will also discuss on strategies to be adopted during the selection of the Speaker for Sri Lanka Parliament scheduled to take place on the 22nd of this month.

Meanwhile, reports from Batticaloa said that Kingsley Rasanayagam, the fourth TNA MP from Batticaloa district, has submitted his resignation. He has informed TNA Secretary General R.Sampanthan and Secretary Maavai Senathirajah of his resignation citing personal reasons for his decision.

Reports reaching from the hill country say that Leader of Upcountry Peoples Front, P.Chandrasekaran, and Leader of Western Province Peoples Front, Mano Ganesan have said that they will function jointly with the TNA in Sri Lanka Parliament.
