Mallavi residents stage protest rally

A large number of students, teachers and parents stages a rally in Mallavi today, according to the night news broadcast of the Voice of Tigers (VoT), to protest against the indiscriminate attacks by the SLAF on schools students and teachers.

The rally was organised by the Mullaithivu district Parents Teachers Association and the Higher Education Students Union of Mullaithivu, the radio said.

The procession had begun at the Mallavi Central College and proceeded to the UNHCR office where the organisers handed over a memorandum to the resident representative of the UN agency the VOT said.
