LTTE leader Lt Sellakili remembered

21st death anniversary of senior leader of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) Lt. Sellakili was observed Friday in Jaffna, sources said. Lt Sellakili led the guerilla attack on a group of Sri Lanka Army (SLA) soldiers on 23rd July 1983 at Thirunelvely in Jaffna town. 13 SLA soldiers were killed in the attack.

Professor K.Thevarajah, Head of the Commerce Faculty of the Jaffna University lit the flame of sacrifice at the event held at the memorial of Lt.Sellakili, which is located at the Thirunelvely post office junction.

Mr.P.Paheerathan, President of the International Thamileelam Students Federation and Ms Kalaivilzi, LTTE Jaffna district women political head also participated. Large number of people and representatives of civil groups paid homage to the LTTE leader by offering flowers.
