Dr.S.Sathurmugam, the Director Teaching Hospital, and Dr.Ambalavanar, president of Jaffna General Hospital Development Association (JGHDA) launched a website for JGHDA on 19 July, sources in Jaffna said. A message posted on the website said that the site is not the official website of the Hospital but of the JGHDA which is registered with the Sri Lanka government as a Non-Governmental Organization.

Jaffna Hospital"The purpose of this website (www.jafhos.org) is to give an overview of the Association and its work. It also serves to highlight the hospital, its various departments and the services they provide for the Tamil community in the North in alleviating the suffering caused by trauma & illness.

"The website will also focus on the shortcomings and needs of the hospital. Many have expressed a desire to help the hospital in some way. The website will hopefully provide a way by which information could be obtained so that such help could be channeled appropriately," says a message on its home page.
