Pre-school exhibition to be held in NE

North East Provincial Ministry of Education, Cultural Affairs, Sports and
Youth Affairs has organized a two day exhibition, where artistic material produced by
pre-school students, teachers and parents of Child Friendly Development
Centres in the province are to be displayed. This is the first time such an
exhibition is to be held in the northeast, said Mt.S.Mahalingam, Senior
Assistant Secretary.
Selected creations at the zonal level from eleven educational zones,
Mannar, Vavuniya south, Trincomalee, Muttur, Kantalai, Batticaloa,
Kalkudah, Paddiruppu, Kalmunai, Sammanthurai, Akkaraipattu, Amparai, Maha
Oya and Dehiattakandiya would be displayed for two days commencing from
July 30 at the Trincomalee St.Joseph's College auditorium, he said. Mr.R.Thiagalingam, Provincial Chief Secretary will declare open the
exhibition. Provincial Education Ministry Secretary Mr.Thiagalingam will
preside over the event. Exhibition of this nature for the other education
zones in the northeast would be held in September in Jaffna district, Mr.
Mahalingam said. North East is divided into 24 educational zones. Mr. Mahalingam with
Assistant Director of Education for NE Pre-Schools Ms Jeya Thambiah are in
charge of the exhibition.
