More killings in Batticaloa

Two men were shot dead in Kiran, 27 kilometres north of Batticaloa, Thursday night around 10.30, Police said. A Sri Lanka army patrol on the main road near Kiran junction rushed to the spot on hearing gunfire and found the two bodies, according to Police sources in Batticaloa. "We suspect that the two men might have been linked to Karuna. But there is no clue as yet of their identities", a Police officer said.

The army patrol found some ropes near the bodies, indicating that the men were brought to the spot by their executioners with their hands tied up, according to the Police.

The bodies are at the Batticaloa hospital.
