Six killed in clashes - VoT

The Voice of Tigers said in its broadcast this morning that 5 Liberation Tigers and one supporter died in four separate confrontations with the Sri Lankan Army on Thursday and Friday.
Cpt. Sathiyan (Kanthasamy Selvarasa, Batticaloa), Lt. Rahulan (Krishnapillai Chandrakumar, Amparai) and a LTTE supporter Mahalingam Baskaran from Batticaloa died when the Sri Lankan Army ambushed them at Konamadu in Batticaloa on Thursday around 1.10 p.m., according to the radio. Two other LTTE fighters were killed in Muthur in Trincomalee on Friday in two different incidents, the radio said. Sittampalam (Kunaboosanam Kugathasan, Trincomalee) died in a firefight with the SLA when the SLA cordoned and searched Iraalkuli while another LTTE fighter, Veeran, also known as Aasaiappa (Kanapathipillai Navaratnarasa, Trincomalee), died in a confrontation with the SLA in Ilanthaimadu, the radio said. A LTTE member, Piriyangan Sasi from Jaffna died in a confrontation in Ampakamam in the Vanni on Friday, the radio also said.
