"If the Government of Sri Lanka (GOSL) is unable to defeat the
Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) militarily it should put forward a concrete political solution to end the conflict and not
engage in spreading false stories on dissention within LTTE," said Mr.S.Elilan, LTTE Trincomalee district political head
when he addressed at the Tamil Women Resurgence Day event held in Trincomalee Sri Shanmuga Hindu Ladies Hall Sunday to mark the seventeenth death anniversary of first LTTE woman martyr 2nd Lieutenant Malathi.

Ms Kanmani Ratnavadivel, President of the Tamil Women Associations' Forum
in Trincomalee presided the Resurgence Day event. Mr.Elilan further said, "I was with Colonel Sornam, Trincomalee area commander of the LTTE when the State run Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) announced that Colonel Sornam and Colonel Soosai are leaving the LTTE due to difference of opinion with the leadership. "The GOSL and chauvinist elements are creating confusion in the South with the intention of disturbing our firm stand to find peaceful settlement to the conflict through negotiations," said Elilan. Elilan attacked the Sinhala media for publishing lies
about the LTTE and its activities. "The policy of Sinhala media appears to be to keep the Sinhala people in total darkness, preventing them from knowing the truth. Ultimately this will backfire and will cause great harm to the Sinhala people," he said.

Parliamentarian Mr.K.Thurairatnasingham said LTTE did not take arms on its own but it has been forced to take arms to liberate Tamil nation when the
past Sinhala dominated governments suppressed Tamil legitimate rights and
grabbed traditional Tamil homeland by establishing State aided Sinhalacolonization schemes.
