Tamil Rehabilitation Organization (TRO) provided financial assistance to six families affected by the war in the Muttur east villages in Trincomalee district under the second phase of its Self Income Generating Incentive Project (SIGIP) . Bulls, carts and cycles were supplied to families to generate self-income, TRO Trincomalee District Director Mr.Kiruba said.

The event was held at Kaddaiparichchan TRO Office in Muttur east.

Under the SIGIP a recipient family can select its self-employment tools. Thereafter the TRO enters the scene and pay the required money to the seller.

And also the TRO opens a savings account in the name of the recipient with initial deposit of six percent of the value of the cart, bull or any other item. This is to induce the recipient to save money thereafter from the proposed self-employment project, Mr.Kiruba said.
