Tripartite negotiation needed - TULF

The general secretary of the TULF and MP for Trincomalee Mr. R. Sambandan and Dr.Neelan Thiruchelvam MP who met Mr.Nagendranath Jha, senior advisor to the BJP government in India and formerly India's high commissioner in Sri Lanka for discussions today told him that it is necessary to bring the SL government, the Liberation Tigers and the United National Party into a tripartite negotiation process to settle the conflict in Sri Lanka.
They told Mr.Jha that India should help bring about such a process. Mr. Jha, according to TULF sources, had readily agreed with the TULF that India should do the needful to facilitate such a process. Meanwhile, the leader of the UNP Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe who returned from a visit to India today told the press that the new Indian government is taking a special interest in the course of the ethnic conflict here.
