Arafat was force of inspiration for all oppressed masses- Pirapaharan

“Arafat was the source and force of inspiration, not only for the Palestinian people but for all the oppressed masses of the world," said leader of Liberation Tigers, Velupillai Pirapaharan in his condolence letter to the Palestinian people and their leadership.

The full text of the letter follows:

On behalf of the people of Tamil Eelam I wish to express heartfelt condolences over the demise of your highly esteemed national leader of the Palestine people, President Yasser Arafat.

President Arafat symbolised the national unity of the Palestinian people. He was the historical spirit behind the heroic struggle of his people for liberation. He was the source and force of inspiration, not only for the Palestinian people but for all the oppressed masses of the world.

His passing at this critical moment in world history, will be an irreparable loss to all those who cherish freedom and liberty from conditions of oppression and injustice.
