TRO assists flood victims in Trincomalee

The Tamils Rehabilitation Organization (TRO) has been distributing relief packages to flood victims in the Trincomalee district since Thursday. TRO Trincomalee district secretariat workers Thursday and Friday supplied relief packages to all victims irrespective of any differences in the north of the district. Each package contains relief material including dry ration worth about five hundred rupees, sources said.

TRO Friday supplied relief to about 38 Sinhala families affected by the flood in Kallaruwa in Kuchchaveli division, north of the district. TRO workers Thursday visited the villages of Puddaivaikattu, Thiriya,
Kuchchaveli and Kumburupiddy where about five hundred families including
Tamils, Muslims and Sinhalese have been displaced due to flood and supplied
relief packages to them, sources said.

Another group of workers of the TRO Friday went to Muttur east division and
supplied relief packages to flood affected families in Malaimunthal,
Pattalipuram, Pallikudiruppu and Santhoshapuram and distributed relief
packages, sources said.
