Denmark donates water purification units to TRO

Mr.Michael Sternberg, Ambassador of Denmark who is on a two day visit to
Trincomalee district Thursday donated ten water purification units to the
Tamil Rehabilitation Organization (TRO) to clean all wells in the Tsunami
affected coastal villages. The Government of Denmark also provided four
technicians to train about ten volunteers of the TRO in handling the water
purification units, sources said.
Mr.Michael Sternberg visited the Tsunami destroyed coastal areas in the
east port town Thursday. Mr.Sternberg Friday visited LTTE controlled
Muttur east villages. Water purification units have been sent to TRO divisional office in
Chenaiyoor located in the LTTE controlled Muttur east. TRO sources said these water purification units would be used to clean all
wells affected by Tsunami waves in the LTTE controlled areas, Verugal,
Eeachilampathu and Muttur east in the Trincomalee district. Meanwhile, TRO district office in Trincomalee district has deployed about
one hundred and fifty volunteers to collect details of damages caused to
persons, houses, cultivation and other industries in the last week Tsunami
in the district.
