LTTE leaders visit Kousalyan's wife, mother

Head of LTTE Political Wing, Mr. S. P. Thamilchelvan, LTTE's Special Commander for Batticaloa, Col. Banu, Head of LTTE's Finance Division, Mr. S. Thamilenthi, LTTE Senior Member Mr. K. V. Balakumaran, and LTTE military commander Mr. S. Nagesh arrived in Karadiyanaru Maha Vithiyalam grounds in Batticaloa 5 PM Wednesday in a SLAF Helicopter facilitated by the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM). LTTE leaders visited Mr. Kousalyan's wife Pushpa in Ampilanthurai, Kokkadicholai and Kousalyan's mother and three sisters in Pandariyaveli in LTTE controlled area, LTTE sources said. Kousalyan was married in 22 March 2004, and Pushpa is 7 months pregnant, sources said.

Arrangements are being made for Kausalyan's funeral to be held at Thandiyadi Heroes Cemetery Thursday evening, according to LTTE sources.

Meanwhile, bodies of the slain LTTE officials are being taken for last tributes in Amparai and Kalmunai in SLA controlled areas.

Funeral Posession will be held from Karadiyanaru to Thandiyadi on Thursday.

Families of the other 3 LTTE officials in SLA controlled area will join the funeral in Thandiyadi Thursday, sources said.

This is the first visit to Batticloa by Thamilchelvan after renegade commander Karuna split from the LTTE. This is also Thamilenthi's first visit to Batticaloa, according to LTTE sources.

The LTTE delegation on its way to Batticaloa, also landed in Sampoor in Trincomalee and met Mr. Elilan, LTTE Political Head for Trincomalee, sources said.

LTTE's senior commander Ramanan, Commander for Mavadymunmaary area, Head of LTTE's Batticaloa-Amparai Administrative Unit Mr. Bavan, Head of Medical Unit, Mr. Ravimohan, Batticaloa-Amparai Tsunami Relief and Planning Director Mr. S. Marshall, and Field Commanders Pallavan and Miresh from the Charles Antony Special Regiment accompanied the visiting LTTE leaders.
