SEDB opens tenth bank branch in Vakarai

10th branch of the Socio Economic Development Bank (SEDB) headquartered in Killinochchi was opened in Vakarai in the Batticaloa district Monday. This is the second in the Batticaloa district. Mr.Gopal, Vakarai divisional director of the Tamil Rehabilitation Organization (TRO) presided over the event, sources said.

Ms Anthurema, Swiss TRO representative, Ms Kathiramaialarajah, General Manager of Vakarai Multi-Purpose Co-operative Society, Mr.Gunaretnam, Planning Development Officer of the Vakarai Divisional Secretariat lighted the traditional oil lamp

Ms Lingda Dhammika of United Kingdom unveiled the name board of the bank. Mr. Paramalingam Thangavelautham, Swiss TRO representative declared open the bank by cutting the ribbon.

Mr.Gopal, Mr.P.Sriskandarajah, Director of the SEDB, Mr.K.Yogarajah of Vakarai Predesiya Sabah, Ms Rahulanayaki, Vakarai Divisional Assistant Secretary, Ms Lingda Dhammika from UK and Mr.Kali, Vakarai division political head spoke.

TRO representative Mr.Ramesh proposed vote of thanks. Customers opened new savings accounts thereafter, sources said.
