Funeral of LTTE cadre held in Vakarai

"We strongly condemn the killing of our cadres in the east. These killings do not detract us from our main goals, instead they strengthen our will to continue our struggle with greater determination," said Colonel Balraj, senior commander of the
Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) speaking at the funeral of Second Lieutenant Pushparajan (Robert Kanthamarajah Uthayakumar) who was killed in an ambush on Saturday at LTTE controlled Kirimichchai area in Vakarai division by unidentified gunmen, sources said.
Colonel Balraj further said that the Government of Sri Lanka should take serious effort to stop these killings. If it fails do so our leadership will be forced to make difficult choices that will potentially plunge the country into destruction and despair. "We are awaiting instruction from our national leader in this regard," said Colonel Balraj. The body of Second Lieutenant Pushparajan was kept for homage in Vakarai Sunday and his funeral was held Sunday evening. Mr.Thamilmaran, Kathiraveli division LTTE political head presided. Mr.Semmanan, LTTE Trincomalee district deputy political head also
attended the funeral, sources said. Second Lieutenant Pushparajan from Kurinchi Road, Vinayagapuram in Valaichchenai.
