International delegation visits Jaffna

Officials from the British, Dutch and Indian High Commissions in Colombo visited Jaffna yesterday, to obtain first hand information about the situation there, said sources in Jaffna.

The officials had discussions with the Jaffna Government Agent Mr. S. Shanmugathas and the Jaffna Municipal Council Commissioner, Mr. Balasingham, they said.

The officials also discussed the development projects being carried out in Jaffna.

The Indian High Commission official, Mr. Satchadev Rajkumar also met officers from the Sri Lankan security forces at the Palaly military base.

The visiting officials will meet MPs and Jaffna Municipal Council Mayor, Mrs. Sarojini Yogeswaran, said sources.
