In a letter addressed to the Gramasevaka Officer in Palugamam, Police in Kaluwangikudi has asked the one of the seven TRO staffers, abducted by unknown gunmen last week and still missing, to appear at the Welikande Police station on the 10th February 10 a.m., Friday, TRO sources in Colombo said.

Parents of Kailayapillai Ravindran are perplexed by the letter and have asked the civil society leaders in the area to take the matter up with the Kaluwanjikudi Police to determine the motivation and background to the letter.

"We are confused as to how to react to the letter, when our son is still missing," said the distraught parents of Ravindran.
