Centre For Health Care, as part of the Dental Health Awareness Month of February declared by Tamileelam Health Services, conducted dental screening, therapy, and health education to more than 18,000 pre- and primary school students in deprived areas of NorthEast, health officials in Kilinochchi said.
The Dental care promotion programme was through the Oral Health Development Unit of Center for Health Care, and was financially supported by Norwegian Tamil health Organization (NTHO) and Australian medical Association Fund (AMAF). More than 95 percent children examined were found to have dental issues, and all children were provided with tooth brushes, tooth paste and healthcare pamphlets. An exhibition was arranged for school children in Mallavi Central College about oral health during the last week of February, healthcare professionals said.
