Newly constructed Adampan hospital opened

The newly constructed district government hospital complex in the village of Adampan in the Liberation Tigers controlled area of Mannar district was decalred open, Monday morning. The hospital was construvted at a cost of 22.4 million rupees by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) funded North East Community Restoration Programme (NECORD).
Mr.T.Lankaneson, Project Director of NECORD declared open the hospital. The new hospital complex includes the Outdoor Patient Department (OPD), Maternity Ward, Midwife quarters, Modern Kitchen facility, and Overhead Tank. NEERP, another project financed by the World Bank (WB) provided 5.9 million rupees for the construction of the quarters for medical officers-
one for men and the other Women. Provincial Director of Health Services. The Adampan district hospital was destroyed in 1990 during military offensiv launched by the Sri Lanka Army (SLA).
