Rural Volunteers Brigade passing out parade held in Eachchilampathu

"The Government of Sri Lanka led by President Mahinda Rajapakse is pushing us to the war front to win our rights," said Colonel Sornam, Special Commander of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) participating as the chief guest after taking salute at the passing out parade of a class of rural volunteers brigade held Tuesday afternoon in the grounds of Eachchilampathu Sri Sembaga Maha Vidiyalayam. The volunteers underwent three months of rigorous military training including handling heavy weapons, LTTE sources said.
Mr.Puratchi, Trincomalee district head of the Thamileelam Students Federation presided. Ms Sivamma, mother of two LTTE martyrs lit the flame of sacrifice.
LTTE Trincomalee district commander Vasanthan hoisted the Thamileelam National Flag. Colonel Sornam, Commander Vasanthan and Deputy Commander of Batticaloa District Ramanan took the salute of newly trained members of the Heavy Weapons Brigade and Attack Brigade, sources said. Thereafter Colonel Sornam, LTTE Trincomalee district political head Mr.Elilan, Mr.Ganeshan of Teachers' Brigade and Mr.Vaman, LTTE cadre also spoke. Sea Tigers Trincomalee district commander Pulavar, Trinco Intelligence head Kalian and Sothia Brigade Trincomalee district head Marutham also participated in the event. Colonel Sornam said, "we are strong militarily today because of the trained rural volunteer force and also of our leader's strategy and guidance in the warfront. We will certainly achieve our liberation in the lifetime of our national leader". "From Sri Lanka' President Jayawardene's time, through R.Premadasa, D.B.Wijetunge, Chandrika Kumaratunge and the Prime Minister Mr.Ranil Wickremasinghe, every Sinhala leadership has deceived us. Currently President Mahinda Rajapakse has also started to follow the path of his predecessors. We are being pushed back by the government of President Rajapakse to the war front to achieve our independence", said Colonel Sornam.
