Three hundred police trainees begin training in Vanni

Three hundred officers newly recruited for Thamileelam Police started training on Saturday in Vanni. The recruits, under the coaching of Police Trainer S. Thamilarasan, were the second unit to be trained in 2006, said T. Kanahan, the head of administration of the Police.

Thamileelam Police Chief Mr. B. Nadesan, Ms. Immaculate, a Police Researcher, and Police Co-ordinators from Mullaithivu and Mannar, Mr. K. Kannalan and Mr. N. Ranjithkumar, addressed the new trainees following the inaugration ceremony. Mr. Nadesan hoisted the Thamileelam National Flag and Mr. T. Kanahan hoisted the flag Thamileelam Police. The senior LTTE official and the Police Chief, in a recent Interview to TamilNet, discussing the multi-functionary expansion of the Thamileelam Police, said that the Thamileelam Police has established a Police station in Pallai to enable residents in Sri Lanka Army (SLA) controlled parts of Jaffna to lodge complaints. Liberation Tigers were continuously improving the Police structures necessary to address issues that affect the NorthEast Tamils and will not wait for a political solution, Mr. Nadesan observed.
