Muttur east plunges into darkness following air strike

The entire Muttur east villages Tuesday night plunged into darkness as the electricity supply system has been completely cut off due to air strike, shell and gunboat attacks launched by the State armed forces Tuesday evening. In some areas electric pylons had also been damaged due to air strike, civil sources in Muttur east said.
During air strike and artillery attack, which continued for more than five hours from about 5 p.m. in the evening, large number of men and women with their children and older people ran for safety in one storied school buildings. Meanwhile naval gunboats in the evening attacked villages Ralkuli and Upparu on the other side of Muttur town, sources said.
