Allaipiddy injured implicate SLN in killings

Two local residents seriously injured during Allaipiddy killings and receiving treatment in Jaffna Hospital told the Kayts Magistrate, Mr. Jeyaraman Trotsky, in a deposition that Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) soldiers were present during the killlings and that they will be able to identify the SLN soldiers who took part in the killings, legal sources in Jaffna said.

The Magistrate recorded statements from witnesses and relatives in the Puliyankudal and Velanai killings starting from Wednesday in Kayts courts, legal sources said.

He visited the injured who escaped Allaipiddy killings at the Jaffna Teaching Hospital Friday to record the statements.

Mr Roxy did not summon the injured to the Courts due to security reasons and recorded the deposition at the Hospital.

Although the Magistrate has requested Police security for the injured, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) has not yet authorized protection, sources said. The injured witnesses to the crime are living under threat to their life, legal sources said.
