SLA sergeant wounded in cylinder bomb explosion in Karuvakerny

A Sri Lanka Army seargeant was wounded in his hand when a suspicious cylinder exploded at the bus stop in Karuvakerny, 27 km north of Batticaloa town, around 7:40 a.m. Sunday, Police said.

The SLA seargent, M. Asoka Sriwardene, 32, was rushed to Valaichenai Hospital.

SLA troopers involved in road clearing operations have been exposed to various bomb explosions in Batticaloa district, Valaichenai Police said.
