SLA soldier killed, 3 wounded in Meesalai Claymore attack

A Sri Lanka Army (SLA) soldier was killed and 3 seriously wounded in a Claymore mine explosion that took place at Meesalai, 4 km northeast of Chavakacheri in Thenmaradchi sector of Jaffna district around 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Traffic through A9 at Messalai was blocked and a cordon and search operation was launched by the SLA troopers.

The soldiers were on a road clearing patrol mission on A9 Road close to Meesalai Railway Station between Chavakachcheri and Kodikamam.

Wounded troopers were rushed to a nearby camp and airlifted to Palaly Military Hospital.
