Police officer injured in Jaffna grenade attack

A Sri Lanka Police constable was seriously injured when unidentified assailants hurled a hand grenade towards a police street patrol between Kalviyankadu and Kopay Tuesday at 11.00 a.m, sources in Jaffna said.

The injured constable was admitted to the Jaffna Teaching hospital, hospital sources said.

The Police opened fire after the attack but the assailants escaped from the site, police sources said.
