Claymore blast kills SLA soldier, injures another

A Sri Lanka Army (SLA) soldier was killed and another injured in a claymore mine attack at Naavalady in the coastal village of Inparuddy in Vadamaradchi north, on the Jaffna peninsula, around 7:30 a.m., Monday, SLA authorities said.

SLA troopers were on a routine patrol when they were hit by the road side blast.

The area was cordoned off and searched by the troopers. Villagers said about 15 youths were arrested by the troops and taken to local SLA camp.
