Two civilians abducted in Jaffna Sunday

Two more civilians were abducted early morning Sunday in Chunnakam and Ariyalai areas by armed men riding in white vans, Jaffna Branch of Human Rights Commission (HRC) officials said citing complaints registered at their offices by victims' relatives. The escalation in abductions has continued amidst the visit to Jaffna of a special Human Rights group under the direction of UN Secretary General Saturday, civil society sources in Jaffna said.
In Mylankadu, Chunnakam area, armed men abducted Nagalingam Yoganathan, 45, father of three children, at 4:00 a.m. Sunday, according complaint filed by the victim's wife with the HRC. Meanwhile, Rajalingam Suresh, 19, was abducted from his residence in Mulli Road, Ariyalai Jaffna, at 1:00 am Sunday morning, the victims relatives said in their complaint. Another youth was abducted near the same area in Ariyalai two days earlier.
