Muslim trader disappears in Jaffna, youth's body found in toilet pit

A body of youth strangled to death, was found in a toilet pit in an abandoned house in Chunnakam South area in Valikamam region in Jaffna district Monday evening. The neighbors alerted the area Village Service officer after detecting a bad stench, and the body was found after a search. The Village Service officer handed over the unidentified body to the Jaffna Teaching hospital for autopsy and identification. Meanwhile, a muslim trader has been reported to have disappeared in Mallakam, sources in Jaffna said.
The body is believed to be belonging to one of the youths abducted recently in the Peninsula by the Sri Lanka Army (SLA) solders and SLA-backed paramilitaries. Meanwhile, a Muslim textile dealer disappeared in Mallakam area on Tuesday, according to a complaint lodged by his wife at the Jaffna branch of Human Rights Commission (HRC), Wednesday. Abdul Galam Subaideen, 26, a young family man, married to a Tamil woman, set out from home on business Tuesday morning and has not returned.
