Private secretary of Sooriyarachchi arrested

Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officials arrested a private secretary of sacked minister Sripathi Sooriyarachchi, Lieutenant Commander Rohana Gamage, a navy officer, sources said. Police officials said the he was taken into custody at Anuradhapura, capital of north central province, with several confidential documents Wednesday morning.

Police sources further said seized documents possess vital information regard to alleged sabotage activities against the Sri Lanka government.

However, Mr. Sooriyarachchi dismissed the accusation by police sources and said the arrest of his private secretary has been targeted him for making allegation against the government after being sacked from cabinet.
