Tamil civilian abducted in Colombo

Unidentified men operating from a white van abducted a Tamil civilian Friday morning at 10:30 a.m along King street, Borella, Colombo, sources in Colombo said. The victim has been identified as Pakianathan Vijeyasanthan, 32, a married man from Trincomalee.

Vijeyasanthan’s mother, Kamaladevi Pakiyanathan, has lodged a complaint with Borella police as well with Mano Ganeshan , leader of Western Province People Front (WPPF) and Colombo district member of parliament.

Mano Ganeshan is also the convener of the Civil Monitoring Commission of Sri Lanka (CMCSL), a Colombo-based civil watchdog formed to monitor and advocate against abductions of civilians.
