5 youths abducted in six days in Jaffna

Five youths have been reported either abducted or gone missing from Friday 11 to Wednesday 16, in Jaffna district according to complaints made at Human Rights Commission Jaffna office.
Gnanaseelan Asokan, 24, of Naavalar road, Nallur Jaffna had gone missing 11 May, Friday after going to Nallur temple to pray.
Armed men in a white van abducted Rasalingam Nesaraj, 22, on his way to Vaddukoaddai from Thoappukkaal in Kaaraitheevu, after beating his father who accompanied Nesaraj, at Moo'laay road Saturday around 10:00 a.m in broad day light.
Subramaniam Sivatharsan, 28, a postman from Koapaay, attached to Kaithadi post office had gone missing Saturday, while going to work in a bus.
Arudpragasam Ravikumar, 25, of Nallur Cross street was reported missing Monday while going to work.
Alwinas Piriyatharsan, 27, from Naaranthanai north, Kayts, has gone missing Wednesday, after he went to obtain permission to travel to Colombo at the Assistant Government Agent's office in Kayts.
However, Sri Lanka government spokesperson in Colombo had told media that human rights violation in Jaffna peninsula have considerably decreased after US Ambassador's recent visit to Jaffna peninsula.
