One-year-old baby, mother wounded in SLA shelling in Mannaar

A mother and her one-year-old baby were wounded in artilery fire by the Sri Lanka Army from Tha'l'laadi SLA camp, Tamileelam Police officials in Liberation Tigers controlled territory in Mannaar said.
The mother, Sagayamma Anistan, 33,a teacher at Mannaar Aalangku'lam Government Tamil Mixed School and her child Anistan Pokamilan, 01, were injured. The child, admitted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Pa'l'lamadu hospital, is in a critical condition, hospital sources said. SLA, from its bases in Mannaar, launched artillery barrage and Multi Barrel Rocket fire, targeting civilian settlements in LTTE held areas, from 5:30 a.m up till noon Friday causing residents to flee in fear, the sources added.
