Third shooting in Jaffna injures youth

Two unidentified gunmen on motorcycles shot and seriously injured a youth along the road at Mudamaavadi between Kalviyangkaadu and Aadiyapaatham roads, in Jaffna Tuesday evening, sources in Jaffna said. In two separate shooting incidents earlier Tuesday two civilians were killed.

The youth, identified as Balasingham Suresh, 21, a resident of Sivan Koayilady, Thirunelveali, was rushed to Jaffna Teaching hospital.

In the day's earlier shootings, unidentified gunmen killed a 42-year old father of two at his home located along Maanippaay Road in Koddadi, Koanaamalaiththoddam at 10:30 a.m.

Later, around 11:30 a.m., unidentified gunmen shot dead a three-wheeler owner in front of an Aero Lanka office located at Naavalar road, Kantharmadam.
