Claymore attack injures two SLA troopers in Vavuniyaa

Two Sri Lanka Army (SLA) troopers were injured when unknown assailants triggered a claymore mine targetted at the SLA foot patrol near Thoanikkal in Theakkanthoaddam area in Vavuniyaa at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, Police sources in Vavuniyaa said. The injured troopers were first admitted to the Vavuniya Government Hospital and later transferred to the Anuradhapura Hospital, according to hospital sources.

SLA soldiers and Vavuniyaa Police cordoned off a large area surrounding the site of the claymore attack and conducted search operation.
