Corpses of 2 Tamil youths recovered in Ea'raavoor

Ea'raavoor police recovered two bodies of Tamil youths shots killed, hands bound and eyes blind folded Thursday around 8:00 a.m at Theavapuram, Mu'rakkoddaancheanai in Ea'raavoor police division in Batticaloa district. The youths may have been abducted and brought from another place and killed at Theavapuram, police said.

Sri Lanka Army (SLA) troops, around 10:00 p.m Wednesday, on being informed of gunshots heard, rushed to the site and found the two bodies lying at Vinaayakapuram Cross road, around 200 meters from Theavapuram Railway Station.

Ea'raavoor police, receiving information of the bodies from SLA, recovered the bodies.

The District magistrate conducted the inquest into the killings at the site Thursday and directed the police to hand the bodies to Ea'raavoor hospital to be identified.

The victims are not from the local area and they may have been abducted a few day ago, the police said.

Ea'raavoor police are investigating into the killings.

Mu'rakkoddaancheanai is located 21 km northwest of Batticaloa town.
