Airforce bombing kills four civilians[TamilNet, Sunday, 22 November 1998, 13:49 GMT]Four civilians were killed and 2 wounded when the Sri Lankan Air Force Kfir jets bombed Murippu, a village in the Mullaitivu district, around 10 a.m yesterday, according to the Voice of Tigers (VoT) in its night transmission yesterday. Two Kfir jets entered Mullaithivu in the morning and dropped 9 bombs in the residential area in Murippu, the radio said. One of the bombs hit the house in which the Thangarasa family was living killing two sisters, Thangarasa Bavaani (19) and Thangarasa Santhini (19), the radio said. The family was displaced from Kokkuthoduvaai and had sought refuge at Murippu village. The others two who were killed in the SLAF bombing, according to the radio, are P.Jegan (13) and Suresh Muhunthan (13). R.Suhanthan (22), Mathan (18) were wounded in the air strike and have been admitted to hospital, the radio added. Several other houses were damaged in the bombing the radio said. The radio also said one LTTE member, 2nd lt. Amutharasi (Sivalingam Sithirakumaari of Nedunkerni) was killed in a clash with the Sri Lankan Army at Paranthan on Friday 20 November. Meanwhile two civilians were wounded in Puliyamaddhu, Vavunathivu in the eastern province when the Sri Lankan Army fired in retaliation after they were fired at by suspected members of the Liberation Tigers around 5.30 a.m. today.
