Vavu'natheevu police recovered the body of a family man with gunshot wounds Wednesday near Koththiyaapula Kaa'li Koayil in Vavu'natheevu police division in Batticaloa district.

The victim was identified as Kunarathinam I'langko, 37, a fisherman and the father of 4 children, from Koththiyaapula.

Unidentified armed men arriving at I'langko's house Tuesday around 7:30 p.m abducted him and shot him dead elsewhere, police said.
