Youth's body with gunshot wounds recovered in Kaaththaankudi

The body of an unidentified male civilian was recovered Saturday morning 6:30a.m. by Kaaththaankudi police in Magnsamthoduvaay , Batticaloa district, sources in Batticaloa said.

The body, estimated to be about 25 years of age, dressed in a trouser and a T-shirt, was found abandoned near Daru Salem playgrounds in Magnsamthoduvaay, Kaaththaankudi police division.

The youth, believed to have been killed at about 8:30p.m Friday night, had three gun shot wounds to the head. Seven spent bullets from T-56 type guns were found scattered near the corpse.

The body is kept at Batticaloa teaching hospital for identification.

Kaaththaankudi police have commenced investigation into the killing.
